BIO
Erik Lindhé made his first debut as a filmmaker in 2002 with Massknullaren. The featurette starring Christian Wennberg (Weeds) and Maria Kihlberg (Nya Tider) portrays a young author who gets caught up with his past when an ex-girlfriend deprives him of his Don Juan- act. The film written, directed and produced by Erik was originally meant to be a chamber play and the film was made to capture that same essence.
His second debut came to be the big break. In the spring of 2004 Kvart i was broadcasted across the country by Radio Sweden. The 15 minute long radio play featuring Börje Ahlsdedt (Fanny and Alexander) and Tobias Hjelm (Mästerverket) illustrates the complex relationship between a son and his father. The play was directed by esteemed author/director Stig Larsson and got nominated for Prix Europa in Berlin 2005. The following years Erik established himself as a playwright and producer at The Swedish Radio Drama Department. He produced, among others, the radio musical Grabben i graven bredvid starring Fred Johanson and wrote the play Avdelning 31 starring Jonas Karlsson (Miffo) and Göran Ragnerstam (Kopps). His own play Avdelning 31 got great reviews in Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet.
In 2006 Erik recieved a schollarship from the Swedish Authors' Fund. The schollarship was presented to a young playwright to encourage and support the creative process.
2009 Erik got into stage theater by directing Utsikt mot paradiset. The play was sprung out of a novel by the Norweigan author Ingvar Ambjörnsen and Erik translated and processed the book into a monolouge. Together with beloved actor Claes Månsson (Welcome to Sweden) the piece was completed. It started off in a small private theater in Stockholm and ended up on tour, playing in several towns of Sweden, including Gothenburg City Theater and Stockholm City Theater.
"Utomlands, the name of a one hour compressed play both written and directed by Erik Lindhé. A story proceeding with a series of short scenes wich succeed each other rapidly.... It would probably be wise to put this piece on national television for the whole country to pursue...The scenes seem 'dropped from a modern version of any of Lasse Hallström's early films... Take the chance! Catch this play by its tail!"... those were the words written by veteran journalist and Swedish radio legend Kjell Alinge. Eriks next stage project was well recieved. Upcomming stars Richard Ulfsäter (An enemy to die for), Ulrich von der Esch (183 dagar) and Moa Gammel (Tommy) played the roles of three lost souls and their awkward attempts of reaching one another. The themesong for the play was written by lead vocalist of Sahara Hotnights, Maria Andersson.
Alongside writing and directing Erik has through the years been hired as an actor for TV, radio drama and as a speaker for commercial and informative films. The last five years he also been frequently hired as a teacher in play writing and filmmaking.
Early life
Bengt Erik Gunnar Lindhé was born ni Eskilstuna in December 1970. In 1979 his parents moved to Skara and that's where Erik spent his school years. Early on Erik discovered the joys of filmmaking. As a young boy he somehow got hold of a filmcamera and started working extra as a flower deliverer in order to support his new main interest: filmmaking. He had to bike quite a few miles in order to afford the rolls of films (8 milimeters) it took to make just a few minutes story. And those few minutes of shooting was some very serious business for Erik. His partner, cousin Anders, didn't take it quite as seriously... but they had a lot of fun together.
